Overdose Information

People who are given too much Doxil may develop severe mouth or digestive tract sores and low blood counts. It is unlikely (though not impossible) for a person to overdose on this medication, as it is given by a healthcare provider.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Doxil?

If you miss a dose of Doxil, contact your healthcare provider to set up an appointment for your dose as soon as possible.

Storage Information

Unopened Doxil vials should be stored under refrigeration. After it is diluted, it should be kept under refrigeration for up to 24 hours. Because Doxil vials contain no preservatives, any medication left over must be discarded, instead of being saved for the next dose or the next patient.

Available Strengths

This medication comes in one concentration (2 mg per mL) and is available in 10- and 25-mL single-use vials. Doxil must be carefully diluted before use.
