Many products can cause drug interactions when combined with melphalan. These reactions may increase your risk for infections or other dangerous complications. To help avoid problems, your healthcare provider will ask you about any vitamins, herbal supplements, or prescription or nonprescription medications you are taking. Echinacea, certain vaccinations, and digoxin are just a few of the products that may not be safe to combine with melphalan.

An Overview of Melphalan Interactions

Melphalan (Alkeran®) may interact with a few other medications. Some of the drugs that can react with melphalan include but are not limited to:
 
  • Amphotericin B (Abelcet®, AmBisome®, Amphotec®)
