Ovarian Cancer Detection

Knowledge Is Power

Many women are terrified of ovarian cancer after seeing something they know struggle with the disease or after learning of a strong family history of it. However, this is one of those situations where knowledge is power. Evaluate your risks. If you're at a low risk for ovarian cancer, don't spend time excessively worrying about it. See your doctor every year and make sure to get a pelvic exam done.

If you are at risk, form a monitoring and screening plan with your doctor, with the aim of catching cancer early, when it is most treatable. And don't forget to share your family's health history with your children, especially adult children.
